In order to enhance security for all of our customers, Twilio SendGrid is requiring existing customers to update their authentication to API Keys for all API and SMTP requests by Wednesday, March 24th, 2021.

This is an informational customer advisory that will impact a subset of customers. Customers impacted by this breaking change will experience authentication errors when making API calls leveraging Basic Username and Password Authentication. In order to ensure uninterrupted service, customers must update their authentication method to API keys by following the steps here: https://sendgrid.com/docs/for-developers/sending-email/upgrade-your-authentication-method-to-api-keys/.

Twilio SendGrid has conducted an outreach campaign targeting the registered account email addresses of all customers affected by this breaking change. We are taking the additional step of including this alert here to ensure the best possible alerting to our customers.

If you have any questions or need assistance please visit our documentation (https://sendgrid.com/docs/for-developers/sending-email/upgrade-your-authentication-method-to-api-keys/) or reach out to our support team (https://support.sendgrid.com/hc/en-us).
